NKU Holds the Fifth Chinese History Workshop

On July 6, 2017, the Fifth Chinese History workshop, co-hosted by Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University, East China Normal University, Sichuan University, and Nankai University, was held in Nankai University (NKU). Through the plenary meeting, sub-forums of schools and departments, and academic exchanges between young scholars, the forum served as a gathering place for talents and their combined experience and wisdom.

Prof. Yu Xinzhong, Associate Dean of the Faculty of History in NKU, welcomed the guests on behalf of the university and thanked the organizers of the forum. Prof. Liang Qizi, members of Academia Sinica and Director of Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Science in the University of Hong Kong; Prof. Zhang Guogang, the Distinguished Professors of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program and from the Tsinghua University; Prof. Zheng Zhenman, from the Xiamen University; Prof. Liu Zhiwei, from the  Sun Yat-sen University; Prof. Li Shenwen, from the Laval University and Nankai University; Prof. Chang Jianhua, Director of the Chinese Social History Center in Nakai University; Prof. Wang Lihua, the Distinguished Professors of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program in Nankai University; as well as 23 representatives from schools and functional departments attended the meeting.

Prof. Yu Xinzhong reviewed the history of the Chinese History Workshop and extended congratulations and well wishes to the forum. He expressed his hope that the young scholars could take this opportunity to discuss academic issues in their research fields. Prof. Zheng Zeman, Prof. Liu Zhiwei, and Prof. Chang Jianhua also made excellent speeches respectively. The Fifth Chinese History Workshop opening ceremony successfully ended in a good atmosphere.
