Professor Yang Juping’s Project Selected as a Key Project of 2015 National Social Science Fund

“The Hellenistic Civilisation and the Silk Road”, a research project led by Professor Yang Juping of the Department of World History, Faculty of History, Nankai University, has been selected as one of the Key Projects in the Second Category of the National Social Science Fund and received 800,000 CNY. This is a new addition to a series of Key Projects of the National Social Science Fund led by members of the Faculty of History at Nankai, among whom are Professor Li Zhi’an, Professor Wang Xianming, Professor Chang Jianhua, Professor Nan Bingwen, Professor Wang Lihua and Professor Chen Zhiqiang. Due to the scale and nature of their Key Projects, Professor Li Zhi’an and Professor Nan Bingwen received additional funding from the National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science.  

 

Selected by the Office of the National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science, the Key Projects of the National Social Science Fund are the most distinguished and the most widely recognised research projects in humanities and social sciences in China that receive most funding. They fall into three categories: applied policy research, basic theoretical research and transdisciplinary research. The Second Category is of basic theoretical research.
