On December 28, the international workshop: the theory and practice of medical history research was held by the Faculty of History and Institute of Chinese Social History. About 40 scholars and students of related areas from Peking University, Tianjin University, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine et al. attended the seminar.
Prof. Yu Xinzhong, Associate Dean of the Faculty of History, first introduced the goal for the workshop. Then Prof. Zhen Cheng, from Peking University Health Science Center, made a speech on the topic of “The Challenge of the Era of Chronic Disease -- Reflection from the Perspective of History”, which reviewed the history of disease and emphasized the importance of being qualified doctors and positive patients in the era of chronic disease. Prof. Zhang Xiaoxia and Prof. Chen Hongmei also made excellent presentations. At the end of the seminar, Prof. Yu Xinzhong summarized the main points of this workshop after the discussion session.
