College of History Holds Forum Between Journal of Historical Science Board of Eidtors And Schloars

On November 16, the forum between Journal of Historical Science editors and young scholars was held by Faculty of History in Nankai University (NKU). Dean Jiang Pei as the coordinator, and Editor-in-Chief Guo Changying and Weng Youwei, Reviewer Zhou Xiangsen and Wang Weizhen, Associate Editor Xuying, Editor Zhang Xiuli and Director Lv Manwen, together with hundreds of faculties and students, attended this forum.

Editor-in-Chief Guo Changying introduced the basic information about Journal of Historical Science, including its publication aim, features of columns, as well as the requirements of article submissions and the review process. Reviewer Wang Weizhen emphasized the importance of historiographical writings, pointed out that excellent articles should have innovative perspectives, problem-awareness and logical system. Editor-in-Chief Weng Youwei stressed the significance of a concise topic, standard formats of reference and first-hand sources. Reviewer Zhou Xiangsen added that the topic should reflect the historiographical importance and practical value both. The quantity of domestic research on a topic was not always inversely proportionate to its values. Besides, the review of historiography needed to contain the representative perspectives and so forth.

In the discussion session, the participants held heated discussion on topics such as the article writing and submission. Finally, Dean Jiang Pei summarized the main points of this forum and expressed the gratitude to the Board of editors of Journal of Historical Science. He hoped that this kind of forum would continue to be held.
