From October 14th to 16th, 2016, the 9th conference of Latin Amercan History Research Association of China was held in BaoDing, Hebei Province. The conference with the theme “ Latin American Civilization: From the Perspective of Global History”, was organized by the association and Hebei University. Scholars from Peking University, Nankai University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-Sen University, ILA (Institute of Latin Amercian), China Institutes of Contemporary International Realtions, China Institutes of International Studies, as well as Guangming Daily attended the conference.
In the election of the Latin American History Ressearch Assocaion, Prof. Han Qi was re-elected as the exective vice president, Prof. Wang Ping was re-elected as the vice president, and Prof. Dong Guohui was elected as the vice president and the chief secretary. The department of secretary would be still instituted in NKU’s faculty of History.
The Latin Amercan History Research Association of China, established in 1979, is a non-governmental academic organization, which is hosted by World History Institute of CAAS ( Chinese Academy of Social Sciences). The council of the association, consisted of elected president, vice presidents, secretaries and vice secretaries, plays a leading role in the organization. The current President is Fujian Normal University professor Wang Xiaode.
