Tianjin History Association conference was successfully held in Nankai University on November 12, 2016. Scholars from Nankai University, Tianjin Normal University, Tianjin Academy of Social Science and Tianjin University et al. attended the conference. Prof. Jiang Pei, secretary general of the association, chaired the meeting.
Professor Chen Zhiqiang, president of History Association, summarized the situation of the association including cohesion enhancement, academic exchanges and multiple social service. Qi Yu and Li Gang gave the five-year-old work reports of art history sub-committee and cultural protection sub-committee separately.
After the election, Prof. Chen Zhiqiang was elected as the president, Prof. Wang Xianming and Prof. Jiang Pei were elected as vice presidents.
Prof. Chen made a keynote speech on the topic of future work. He wished the association could strengthen self-construction to increase sense of social service and promote the prosperity of cultural development.
Tianjin History Association was established in 1952, which is supervised by the Tianjin municipal government. Every five years, the council of the association is elected by its membership.
