On April 22, the Second Chinese History Forum, co-hosted by Nankai University’s Faculty of History and Shaanxi Normal University's School of History, opened in the Nankai university’s Jinnan campus.
Prof. Yu Xinzhong, Associate Dean of the Faculty of History in NKU, welcomed the guests on behalf of the university and thanked the organizers of the forum. He introduced the basic information about the Faculty of History in NKU and encouraged young historians to do first-class research. He said the forum was an important platform for sharing new opinions, new methods and new development in the studies of Chinese history, a place for for young researchers to communicate, discuss and interact, as well as an incubator for new research questions. Then Prof. Bai Genxin, from Shaanxi Normal University's School of History, thanked SNNU and NKU for their support to academic research, especially to young researchers, and wished success to the forum.
After the opening ceremony, the forum was divided into two groups for discussion. The first group focused on the topic speech, the second on the Youth Forum. During the forum, SNNU history professors Yu Gengzhe, Huang Shoucheng, Bai Gengxin and NUK history professors Wang Xiaoxin, Hu Baohua made excellent presentations. The forum was closed in the afternoon. Prof. Hu Baohua complimented the organizer for their organization and the participants for their academic attainment. He hoped that the forum will connect scholars in the field of Chinese history and provide a platform for their exchange and communication.
