From July 10th to 13th, 2017, Prof. Hou Jie attended the International conference in Macao with the theme “China and the World: In the Perspective of Christianity”. About 20 scholars from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Europe attended the conference, which was organized by the editorial department of the Journal of Macao Polytechnic Institute and was served as a platform for talents in related academic field .
Cooperated with Dr. Ma Xiaochi, Prof. Hou Jie submitted the paper “Tianjin Chinese Young Men’s Christian Association and the Civilian Education Movement”. Based on years of research on the Chinese Young Men’s Christian Association, Prof. Hou’s speech achieved progress and breakthroughs. His research attracted attention from Prof. Tan Shulin, Prof. Zhou Pingping, and Prof. Chen Caijun.
During the conference, Prof. Hou Jie also visited Prof. Li Xiangyu, the Dean of MPI; Liu Zesheng, the chief editor of the Journal of Macao Polytechnic Institute; and Tian Weiping, the chief editor of the Southeast Academic Research. By doing so, Prof. Hou Jie explored the possibilities of future cooperation in the historical research between NKU and Macao.
