NKU Co-organized “The New Trend in the Anti-Japanese War Research Conference”

On September 2-3, 2017, Associate Prof. Wang Meiping, He Jiangfeng, and Dr. Gao Xiang from the Faculty of History in Shanghai attended “The New Trend in the Anti-Japanese War Research Conference”. About 50 scholars and students from related areas attended this conference, which was co-organized by the Shanghai Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Nankai Unversity.

On the morning of September 2, 2017, Associate Prof. Ye Bin delivered the opening remarks of Prof. Wang Jian, the Director of the History Institute of the Shanghai Chinese Academy of Social Science. Associate Prof. He Jiangfeng also delivered the remarks of Prof. Jiang Pei, the Dean of the Faculty of History in Nankai University. Both of them expressed their hope that this conference would be served as a platform for strengthening understanding of the Anti-Japanese War.

Presided by the Associate Professor Jiang Baolin, the conference was divided into 8 different discussion groups, including “New Trends and New Theories in the History of Anti-Japanese War”, “The Anti-Japanese War of Shanghai and Shanghai’s Post-war Society”, and “New Archives and Databases of the Anti-Japanese War”, etc. Associate Prof. Wang Meiping, He Jiangfeng, and Dr. Gao Xiang delivered their speeches respectively and were particularly well received by the participants.

The New Trend in the Anti-Japanese War Research Conference was first held by the Nankai University and Shanghai Chinese Academy of Social Science. It aims to promote the academic development of the studies in the history of Anti-Japanese War and to clarify the rationale and limits of recent research.
