Institute of Japanese Studies

Center for Japanese Studies founded by Professor Yu Xintun in 1988 on the base of the Research Section of Japanese History founded by Professor Wu Tingqiu, a famous historian, in 1964. There are 7 researchers including 4 doctoral supervisors, 2 associate professors and 1 lecture at Institute of Japanese Studies. Professor Li zhuo is the Director recently.

 

The institute has regular academic exchanges with Center for Asia-Pacific Studies, Waseda University, and Center for Regional Studies, Keio University. 9 international conferences and 4 national conferences were sponsored by the Center. The institute has received over 1000 visiting scholars and lecturers. The institute has a unattached building of 2000 square meters, a collection of 30,000 books in Japanese, and over 40 newspapers and journals in Japanese of Chinese. The institute has been selected as Center for Japanese Studies in North China funded by the Japanese International Exchange Foundation. The Center also supported by Kelichi Eguchi Foundation for Jalanese Studies, Yoshihisa Okamatsu Japanese Studies Foundation and Yoda Japanese Studies Scholarship for Graduates.
