On February 29, while the VOVID-19 epidemic was still raging, the members of the project team of the Byzantine History and Culture Studies, a major project financially supported by National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) and chaired by Professor Chen Zhiqiang from the Faculty of History, Nankai University, held a video conference entitled Network Video Conference on Epidemic Prevention and Control and Research Work on 'Byzantine History and Cultural Studies'.
Dozens of experts and scholars from 30 universities across the country participated in the conference through the Zoom network video conference software at their homes. At the conference, the scholars briefed on the application situation of major national social science projects, shared related experience, discussed the specific tasks in the next step, and elaborated on some important academic issues.
All experts unanimously decided to deliver high-quality final achievements by the end of 2021 in the form of 6-volume General History of the Byzantine Empire.
