Faculty of History and the Chinese Basketball Association held the First Compilation Work Meeting for the

On February 17, 2023, the first work meeting of the Chinese Basketball Chronicle compilation workgroup was held at the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Sports. Jiang Jian, the consultant of the Chinese Basketball Association and the spokesperson of the Hall of Fame Committee, Li Hongxia, the Minister of the Comprehensive Department of the Chinese Basketball Association and Honorary Committee member, Yu Xinzhong, the Dean of the Faculty of History at Nankai University, Wang Hao, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of History at Nankai University, and Zhang Chuanyong, the overall academic responsible person for the Chinese Basketball Chronicle and professor at the Faculty of History at Nankai University, attended the meeting. The meeting discussed the compilation work of the Chinese Basketball Chronicle and the preparations for the Basketball and a Strong China summit forum.


During the meeting, the participants discussed the progress of the compilation of the Chinese Basketball Chronicle and provided suggestions for the next steps. Both sides discussed the organization of the signing ceremony for the cooperation between Nankai University and the Chinese Basketball Association, as well as the Basketball and a Strong China summit forum, and reached preliminary agreements.


This meeting strengthened the connection and collaboration between the compilation team of the Faculty of History and the Chinese Basketball Association on the complilation of the Chinese Basketball Chronicle, and laid a solid foundation for the orderly progress of future work.


The compilation of the Chinese Basketball Chronicle is a significant cooperative project entrusted by the Chinese Basketball Association to our Faculty. The plan is to complete 16 volumes of the Chinese Basketball Chronicle within a five-year period, with a total project budget of RMB 5 million Yuan. The implementation of this project represents a major achievement in line with our Faculty's new approach of promoting disciplinary development through high-quality social services through open-door education. It will undoubtedly enhance the level of social services provided by Nankai's history discipline, promote academic and disciplinary development, and demonstrate the social value of historical research on sports. It will also significantly contribute to the inheritance and promotion of Chinese sports culture and Chinese basketball culture.
