On March 17, 2023, the China Social Sciences Evaluation Research Institute held the 10th National Humanities and Social Sciences Evaluation Summit Forum and Journal Evaluation Report Release Conference in Beijing. The AMI Comprehensive Evaluation Report on Chinese Academic Journals of Humanities and Social Sciences (2022) and AMI Comprehensive Evaluation Report on Chinese Academic Anthologies of Humanities and Social Sciences (2022). According to the report released at the forum, Nankai Historical Studies, sponsored by the Academic Committee of the History Discipline at Nankai University, has been included in the AMI Core Directory of the Academic Anthologies of Humanities and Social Sciences Papers in China. Nankai Historical Studies is one of the 11 anthologies of papers included in the core directory.
Nankai Historical Studies, as a peer reviewed journal, resumed publication in 2019 and releases two issues per year. The editorial board consists of seven editors who are accomplished young and middle-aged scholars. Based on the main research areas of Nankai's historical studies, the anthology focuses on Chinese ancient history, modern and contemporary Chinese history, world history, and museum studies. It invites contributions from renowned scholars both domestically and internationally, while actively encouraging submissions from young scholars and doctoral students. The journal has established columns such as Cutting-edge Historiography, Historical Dynamics, History of Chinese Political Thought, Hhistory of the Communist Party of China, History of the North China, Historiography, and American History. Within just four years, it has published nearly a hundred papers and book reviews. Some of the papers have been reprinted in journals such as Chinese Social Sciences Digest and History and Society (Abstracts). The citation rate of the journal's papers has also been increasing year by year, resulting in a wide academic influence both domestically and internationally.
