The Release Meeting of the Fourth Collection of the Works of Nankai Historians Held Successfully

On May 13, 2023, on the occasion of the establishment of the Faculty of History Branch of the Nankai Alumni Association, and as a tribute to the centennial anniversary of Nankai's history discipline, the Fourth Collection of the Works of Nankai Historians was officially released at the Faculty of History, Nankai University.


The Fourth Collection of the Works of Nankai Historians consists of 11 volumes, including the works on Chinese History, such as Jing Shi Wen Cun (by Zhao Boxiong), Research Method of Chinese Political Thought (by Zhang Fentian), Political Struggles and Character Investigation in Ming and Qing Dynasties (by Zheng Kecheng), Qing History Examinations (by Bai Xinliang), Multi-faceted Ancient Chinese History and Qing History (by Du Jiaji), Research on Traditional Markets in Ming and Qing Dynasties (by Xu Tan), State Governance and Livelihood Policies in the Early Qing Dynasty (by Chang Jianhua), The Theory and Practice of Historiography (by Qiao Zhizhong), and The Chinese Countryside in the 20th Century (by Wang Xianming). The works in the field of world history include Study of Japanese Social History (by Li Zhuo), Interaction and Exchange: Research on the Relationship between the Hellenistic World and the Silk Road (by Yang Juping). The overall compilation work of the fourth series of the collection was successively chaired by two deans, Jiang Pei and Yu Xinzhong, and was successfully completed after four years.


The scholars whose works are included in this collection have been active in the field of Chinese history for over 40 years. They have achieved recognized academic achievements in their respective academic fields and are well-known at home and abroad as representative scholars of Nankai history. The works selected for each collection in this series represent the painstaking exploration and diligent thinking of each scholar over many years and the landmark achievements of Nankai's history over the past century.
