Recently, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences officially announced the lists of Projects of the Year and Youth Projects of the National Social Science Fund of China in 2023. A total of 42 projects by Nankai University were approved, including 8 projects for the Faculty of History and 1 project for the Japan Institute, two of which are key projects. The Faculty of History ranks first in the university in terms of the total number of projects.
The number of National Social Science Fund projects is an important gauge to measure the scientific research capacity and academic competence of an organization or institution. In recent years, the Faculty of History has stepped up efforts to apply for the support of National Social Science Fund for projects. The Faculty stimulates the initiative of teachers to file applications, and carries out the project pre-application, and organizes expert review, which effectively improves the quality of applications. The success rate for the applications for the support of the National Social Science Fund this year is up to 42%, which demonstrates our Faculty’s scientific research capacity and achievements in discipline construction.
