2022 Nankai University International Confucian Association Scholarship
College of History, Nankai University is committed to cultivating excellent historians with rich theoretical attainments, solid research capabilities and international perspectives. The college has forged a strong academic reputation worldwide for its disciplinary characteristics of combining Chinese and foreign experience, connecting ancient and modern and the historiography tradition of to seek truth, be innovative, be comprehensive and learn for use.
The “International Confucian Association” is established to take advantage of this platform to promote Chinese studies in the international academic community. It aims to encourage overseas scholars to understand China and Chinese culture, carry out comparative studies between Chinese and foreign cultures and increase cultural exchanges among different civilizations.
01. Application Requirements
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, under 25 years old.
2. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree or an equivalent degree.
3. Applicants should have reached HSK Level5 with a score of no less than 210.

02. Major and Enrollment
3-year science degree master's program for Chinese History major, 3-4 scholarships.
03. Study Plan and Length of Study
Nankai University only accept full-time students.
The ordinary length of study for the Master’s programs available to international students is 3 years. The students can apply to extend 1 year (including retention).

2. Application Documents
Please note: For items C, D, E, H, please refer to the requirements for “Nankai University International Students Required Application Documents”.
A. Notarized diploma of the highest level of education obtained. Applicants expecting to graduate this academic year must submit an official document issued by their current school to prove their current student status and expected graduation date.
B. Complete academic transcripts of the highest level of education.
C. Personal Statement, including a study or research plan, financial situation, reasons for scholarship application, honors and awards, personal strengths, etc. (no less than 800 words)
D. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors. The letters should be written in Chinese or English.
E. Certification of Language Proficiency
F. Valid Passport (the passport must be valid until at least April 1, 2023)
G. Record of Physical Examination for Foreigners: The requirements for testing must be rigorously adhered to as laid out in the form. The result must be issued after October 2021 in order to be valid.
H. Certificate of No Criminal Record
Please note: the above materials should be in Chinese or English. If any documents are in a language other than Chinese or English, a notarized translation into Chinese or English must be provided.
3. Application Fee
The application fee for each program is 600 RMB.
06. Assessment and Admission
The information in the application document should be identical with those in the passport and the valid visa or residence permit used for application. After the evaluation of documents, the College of History will conduct an interview.
The applicants who pass the interview will be admitted by Nankai University. The admission committee of the Nankai University will reevaluate the information and documents supplied by the applicant. If any kind of fraud, inconsistency, or violation of rules is discovered and verified, the applicant will be disqualified. Admission results will be announced in the registration system or mailed to the applicant.

May 23-May 31 Interviews for admission and scholarship
June 10-June 20 scholarship results announced
July 15 admission documents issued
07. Registration and Arrival on Campus
1. The date for registration and arrival on campus will be in accordance with what is issued on your Admission Notice as well as any announcements made by the School of International Education.
2. Students who have been admitted must comply strictly with the date included on the Admission Notice and with the required registration process.
3. Students must supply their degree certificate and other required documents during registration. If any inconsistencies are discovered they will be grounds for disqualification.
08. Scholarship Value
Scholarship Value: Exemption from tuition fee, provision of accommodation fee, provision of coverage of comprehensive medical insurance, and a living allowance.

09. Medical Insurance
According to the regulations of Ministry of Education of China, international students must purchase comprehensive medical insurance for foreign students while they are studying in China. International students may purchase insurance the day of registration at the registration site. Uninsured students will not be registered.

10. Accommodation
The standard pricing of on-campus accommodation for international students is 1500-3000 RMB/student/month. (New students must live on-campus for their first year.)
