Especially the History of the pre-Qin Dynasty, the History of the Middle Ancient Times, the History of the Yuan Dynasty, and the History of Ming & Qing Dynasty are well-known. Historiography theory and Historiography research have developed their unique characteristics. Specialized History explores the frontier of the discipline with Institutional History, Social History, Ideological History, Environmental History, History of Medical Treatment and Disease, and History of Border Area, leading the international academic trend. A series of teaching and scientific research institutions include Chinese Social History Research Center, Ancient Books and Culture Research Institute, Chinese Modern History Research Institute, Korea Research Center and so on.
