Xia Yan

Xia Yan, born in 1976, a native of Tianjin. He studied at the Faculty of History of Nankai University from 1995 to 2005, and received a bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree. From 2004 to 2005, he was a special research student for foreigners at Waseda University, Japan. After graduating with a doctorate, he stayed on as a teacher at the university. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Faculty of History of Nankai University and concurrently the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History, a member of the Party Committee, and the Deputy Director of the Key Research Center for Social History of China in Nankai University, which is a key research base for humanities and social sciences under the Ministry of Education.
